Hi everyone,
I have recently upgraded Ubuntu to 11.10 and also install gnome shell cause I don't like Unity desktop. The problem is that when I log in with gnome option selected (gnome 3), the gnome panel icons and labels is all messed up!
Anyone can help?

P.S.
I have installed ATI proprietary Catalyst 11.9 driver on my ATI Radeon 3200 HD graphic card.

Seems Gnome 3 has a known incompatibility with ATI Catalyst proprietary driver! look here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1872009)
Maybe I should wait till they release a driver to cover this issue. :(

An alternative would be to use the default radeon driver, which can run GNOME Shell but is slower for gaming. You could also use the GNOME Classic (http://help.ubuntu.com/community/GnomeClassic) session.
