i think it's kind of a bug.
gnome-screensaver is still installed but seems to conflicts with xscreensaver (used in xfce) so programs like vlc fail to stop the screensaver.
i've solved the problem removing gnome-screensaver (that removes ubuntustudio-desktop meta-package and ubuntustudio-screensaver)
