disabling full screen apps on gnome-shell

Hi,

I upgraded an old laptop from 10.04 to 11.10 and installed gnome-shell on it. Works nicely but for somereason on this laptop all apps are in full screen mode.

I think I originally installed a netbook version of Ubuntu on this laptop, but can't remember for sure.

Is there a way to disable the full screen behaviour for applications?

doh, apparantly i can just "drag and drop" them from full screenness into windowed
