Hi everyone,
A new version of VertexOS a remaster of ubuntu is released

It's based on ubuntu 11.10 with gnome-shell as default
.

tweaks :

they are many .. this is the main tweaks

- nautilus actions + more new addons
- firefox with "downthemall + flashgot+ flashblock"
- codecs to play all sorts of mulimedia
- gdeb is installed to handle *.deb files
- umplayer the main video player
- audacious is the main audio player
- arabic support
- useful ppas are added
- terminal tweaks with alias such as
update= sudo apt-fast update
upgrade = sudo apt-fast dist-upgrade
install = sudo apt-fast install
and so on

While I do like the idea of another GNOME Shell distro, I think a lot of the UI elements and huge selection of default software makes it a bit bloated and confusing.

I'd focus on trying to make a unique GNOME Shell experience while keeping the default software minimal. There's a bit too much crammed into it (both DE and software) which needs some attention.

Keep at it though; I'm sure some people may give it a go.

I don't mind the UI customization and some of your tweaks are cool but, yeah, I would go with fewer softwares installed by default given the sort of person that would be interested in a respin. Overall, great work thought. I think the idea of having a gnome shell respin is great actually.

Yes , but this is not my first edition .. so many people are depending on this distro for their computers :)

Not to be a pessimist or anything, but is it really needed other than your personal use?

What is the red thread with this remix? The idea behind?
