View Full Version : Windows 7 no disk drive not found?

i am installing win 7 on my laptop and i cannot click on and drives to install it on
i formated the drive to ntfs with ubuntu
can anyone help?

Moved to other OS.

Did you put a boot flag (active partition in Windows) on the NTFS partition. Some have had it work, others suggest just formating from the Windows install disk.

well i got it to work....but i had to put the hard drive on another comupter and install it there...problem is that when i put it back into the orginal computer it started to boot up and then it showed a blue screen for a split second and then nothing...is this maybe because of the hardware on the computer?

That can be BIOS settings, but I thought Windows 7 handled those better. I changed BIOS to ACPI and my XP does not boot, but I needed that setting for my new SSD. But I will not particularly miss XP.:)
