I rely on my scanner. My MFC9120 is an awesome little tool! LOVE IT.
However, I cannot scan to the network. Instead, I am trying to scan to FTP. I am about to install Ubuntu Server 10.04 or Ubuntu Desktop 10.04 in an effort to fix the issue.
My master plan, as I see it, is to create an internal FTP server for the whole house to use. From there, I can change the Brother MFP-9120CN printer's settings to Scan to FTP.
From there, people in the house can FTP into the server and collect their files after scanning. This will be a neat and tidy way of sidestepping the Network Scanning issues. We have a static IP in the house. We also have a new 1 TB hard drive, so everyone can have plenty of storage space.
Any ideas on how best to go about this?
