If I'm reading you right, you can. See this thread for theming this forum with the newer Ubuntu branding, at least until the forum upgrade happens:

That uses the Firefox plugin Stylish. If you search on the Stylish home page - http://userstyles.org/ - you may find other themes for other sites to your liking. There are also some other Ubuntuforums ones there.
