So as the title says, my friend has a problem. I do not know what kind of ubuntu he had and to which kind he tried to upgrade. So, he turned the update on and went to sleep, thinking that when he will woke up the update will be done. But when he woke up the update was not done so he turned the PC off. He said there was like 4 hours left of the update. Now, he can't turn on the PC anymore. It turns it on and after some while it writes:

Checking battery state ...
stopping system V runlevel
compatability [OK]Anyone know what the problem is ? We tried to put on an other Ubuntu software CD and it writes the same tihng, like the CD was not there. Same with Windows 7. Put it in and he said that it writes like the same. But the problem is that sometimes it writes something else, but when I was at his place, it wrote that, we restarted like 5-10 times and the same thing.

So, any ideeas ?

Thanks!
