I have a dual boot system with Vista and today upgraded to 11:10 using upgrade manager. Unfortunately I cannot now open Ubuntu.
After trying to log on I get the following 'waiting for network configuration' and then 'waiting up to 60 more seconds for network configuration' start up then stops and the screen remains blank.
Can anyone help?

i get the same issue with an dist-upgrade system (not fresh install) and can goes on if:
- i hit "esc" key when seeing this message
- or comment out all entries into : sudo gedit /etc/network/interfaces
(they are no more needed as the system directly deals with network now.

Thanks for your attempt to help dino but unfortunately nothing I have tried has got me past the blank screen. I still cannot get on to Ubuntu. It looks like I will have to revert to taking it off my system and go back to using Vista full time.
One last attempt:
is there anyone in Ubuntu/Linux land we can help me with this problem ??????/
Please
