Having a clear out at the week end.

Found an 8" floppy disk.

Circa 1979/80, IBM 3740 format, this one being Single Sided Single Density about 230k if I recall correctly...

Those were the days :)

When I was a Kid, we didn't have a computer for a long time. but then one day we finally got one. an older one though, but that didn't matter. it could only read floppy discs. my neighbour downloaded moonstone (commodore 64 version as far as i remember) and put it on 4 floppy discs for me.

I played that game so much. I also remember a couple of other games from Floppy's... damn that's a long time ago...

reminds me of my first comp. the old Hercules black and yellow display.... now you could fit way over 100 times more on a cell phone.....
and now words like Gig and Tera byte aren't sci-fi anymore.

Even the Commodore 64 didn't use 8 inch floppies, though.

I remember seeing 8" floppies, but I only go back as far as the 5 1/4" ones. I thought I was in the space age when I got a computer with a 3 1/2" floppy drive. :)
