Like unintalling my Desktop Environments...

I am new to command line, but I am kind of tired of piddling around not learning because everything can be done using a GUI (or so it feels like).

I've tried to look up some ratpoison screenshots and etc, so what happens when I try to start something that requires a graphical interface, like firefox?

Ratpoison is a simple Window Manager with no fat library dependencies, no fancy graphics, no window decorations, and no rodent dependence. It is largely modelled after GNU Screen which has done wonders in the virtual terminal market.

The screen can be split into non-overlapping frames. All windows are kept maximized inside their frames to take full advantage of your precious screen real estate.

All interaction with the window manager is done through keystrokes. ratpoison has a prefix map to minimize the key clobbering that cripples Emacs and other quality pieces of software.

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=68622 shows screenshots, first one with firefox or some browser.

Thanks for all the links. I could have easily gotten that by using Google, and in fact I have seen most of those pages. I am not disparaging your post, or trying to be unappreciative - I just felt when I read those I didn't get much out of it. I always see that same screenshot with the geographical frame...
