I followed OMG! Ubuntu! tutorial on how to get the Gnome 3D shell in 11.10 (http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2011/10/gnome-shell-ubuntu-11-10-guide/). It was pretty easy, all I did was click the buttons and installed from the 'ubuntu software center'
Then I logged out, and clicked the 'cog' icon and chose 'gnome' and logged in to gnome3. It took some time but I got the desktop up, saw the header border, my name, the time and the applications button on the right.
Gnome Do started up fine, and I could move the mouse around but I couldn't click on anything nor write anything. No buttons on my keyboard were working, the only way to shut down the computer was to hold down the on/off button.
Has anyone had this kind of problem with their gnome 3D setup?
