I know a lot of folks do upgrades, just curious how many downgraders are out there? How many of you have moved back to older releases for stability, features, etc.?

I'm a downgrader from 11.10 Xubuntu to 11.04 Xubuntu because the older version gave me perfect video while the newer version broke my video.

I think maybe that the newest kernal was making my netbook run warmer. But on the plus side my wireless was picking up every network in the neighborhood on the newest kernal.

I think a lot of people have to reinstall an older trusted version after an over hasty upgrade. Me too.

I regressed from 11.10 to 11.04....no prizes for guessing why!

No. I had to upgrade the kernel with 11.04 because there was a conflict with the wireless drivers. I have no such kernel problem on 11.10. I think the problem was also due to the incompatibility of Unity with GNOME 2.32. Now that GNOME has been upgraded, for me it all runs smooth now.

Hello All

I went Xubuntu 11.04 -> Debian Squeeze with dwm on the desktop PC. So a sort of 'ancestor downgrade' if that makes sense. Kernel is 2.6.32-5-686.

At least one year support as 'old stable' after testing goes stable.

Tried 11.04, went back to 10.04.

Tried 11.10, went back to 10.04.

Us too... Well, we tried 11.04, went back to 10.04, then tried 11.10...

We do keep a 'testing' partition on this and other machines, makes it a lot easier to do this. Current occupant is Bodhi Linux 1.2.x

The only way to do it. Saves much angst and anger.

I didn't downgrade. I simply didn't upgrade. Or rather, 11.10 was
installed on a separate partition. (I triple-boot on my main computer,
and double boot on my other computer.)

Hi,

Any problems with Lubuntu 11.04?
I'm a member of the team and I'd like to listen to people and see what problems they have with Lubuntu :)
