I had Ubuntu 11.04 running in my dual boot machine, then I tried to upgrade to 11.10 and it failed with the following message:
Unable to install GRUB in /dev/sde
Executing 'grub-install /dev/sde' failed
This is a fatal error
I erased the disk and then tried to do a fresh install and still having the same error.
I have six 1TB disks, Windows 7 is installed in sda, 4 disks are in a RAID 5 that is used strictly for data, and the last one (sde) is the one that I had Natty, and tried to upgrade to 11.10.
Any insight would be appreciated, and please, I am a complete newbie to Linux, keep that in mind when you provide your answers.
