while formatting ubuntu partition alongside vista {ms}
the computer rebooted and now i cant format the partition for ubuntu
its a 320 gig wd and when i first used the live ubuntu cd it offered me 100 gigs to put ubuntu alongside vista

now after the power failure it will only offer 7 gigs to install ubuntu

i tried to use gparted cd rom disk but it will not fix the partitions

i tried to use the live cd and it still will only offer 3 gigs for the ubuntu partion

i used the western digital lifeguard cd and it said it rewrote the mbr

but the ubuntu live cd will not let me use more than 7 gigs to install

like i said before this is a 320 gig hd

and vista only resides on 50 gigs of it

when i use the live cd it will show all of the vista contents

so its all still there

any suggestion besides taking a hammer to it

Does Gparted live Cd or ubuntu live CD see previous ubuntu partition?If it does then you should be able to erase it and on unallocated space make new partition for Ubuntu.
