Hi guys - I followed the guide linked below carefully, but I cannot boot off the stick I made - it does not show up when I hit Alt and does not work in refit - I get a black screen with "Missing operating system"

I have tried two thumbdrives (a Lacie and a Sandisk U3) AND imaging the converted ISO to a partition on my drive using dd.

My hardware is a 2010 13" macbook pro FYI, and *no* cd/dvd drive.

Any help?

Why is there no DVD drive in your Macbook pro?

Did an SSD upgrade and got the backet to put a secondary HDD where the optical drive goes - since on a common day, I don't use the drive.

I don't have that brand of bracket (overpriced) but it's the same concept - main drive is a SSD for FAST performance, and secondary drive is a larger HDD for storage.

Try re-downloading Ubuntu. You might have downloaded a bad image.
