I know there is a lot on this subject, but I can't find anything definitive, and nothing for 11.10, so my question is:

Can anyone get Dreamweaver cs5 or above to work on Ubuntu 11.10?

There are so many tutorials which involve copying virtually your whole Windows system onto Wine, none of which have ever worked for me.

If anyone has achieved this using Wine (not a virtual machine) would they please post how they did it for us poor web developers.

Thanks

Dreamweaver on Wine is not the best solution

I know you said not a VM, but to be honest it is your best bet IMO

Or a native Linux Web Design app such as bluefish

In addition to Bluefish (http://bluefish.openoffice.nl/) there is also Kompozer (http://kompozer.net/) as an alternative to Dreamweaver (http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?appId=183).

Weaning off of Dreamweaver will make you a better developer/coder and substantial increase your profit margin

Vbox is the only way to go if you are truly hooked on DW :(
