(Solved.. See reply)

I upgraded to 11.10 from 11.04 but now it freezes during the start. More precisely when the ubuntu banner is displayed and the dots below the logo are turning to red.

I have tried:
1. I did run it in recovery mode. It loads but only shows the OS command prompt. I was able to run some commands like "ls", "cd", etc. but I do not know how to fix it trough commands.
2. Tried to run previous versions of ubuntu but it freezes also
3. Tried to run previous versions on recovery mode but it also shows the command prompt.
4. Tried to run the live CD with ubuntu 11.04 but it freezes while loading. No command prompt here.

I believe is not a hardware issue since windows loads/runs correctly.

Do not want to continue using windows, so please help me to fix ubuntu.

Finally I fixed the installation and Ubuntu 11.10 its running smooth.

I did enter the command:

sudo dpkg --configure -a

Followed instructions on screen. It showed some errors, so at the end I did run the same command again and this time no error was reported.

Hope this help others. :D
