I have been using 11.10 everyday for a few days. I know that at login I can choose KDE, Ubuntu, Ubuntu 2D, or the user defined session. I tried Ubuntu2D for the first time today then turned off the laptop. Now Unity is gone when I log into Ubuntu or Ubuntu 2d. I have no easy way of loading my programs, I had to use the command line to turn on firefox just to get on here. Hitting the "windows icon" key to activate unity window doesn't work either.
If I type "unity" into the command line the screen goes away and then blinks back, but Unity is still gone, but that is it.
