View Full Version : [ubuntu] Cannot Burn or Install Ubuntu on XP

I downloaded the latest version ISO file and tried to burn it on CD but Nero gives me an error.I tired using Power ISO. I burned one CD but does not boot up from CD. I tried using Wupi.exe also.
No Luck. I'd like to run it using a CD before i install on the HD
PC is an Intel P4 with XP service pack 2.Any help please

Which installation version did you download? The desktop version, alternate version...? If you have the desktop version, it should have live cd available, so you would simply boot to cd first when turning on the computer. You might also want to download it again, since it seems that the iso might be corrupted somehow if it's giving you burn errors.

You need to burn it as an image file, not as something else such as audio or data cd.

Do you have a USB stick handy? You could bang it on there if burning a good disc is proving problematic.
