Dear all,

I have recently updated to 11.10. First I was not happy with the new Unity desktop, but with the days I slowly started to like it. By now I love it!

Well, while I was working in compiz manager the session got frozen. So I went to a command line interface (ctrl+alt+F1) and killed compiz process. Now I lost my Unity configuration and I have no clue on how to restore my Unity desktop.

Thanks in advance for any help

I' ve already solved it just typing "ccsm" in a terminal and checking the "ubuntu unity plugin" box in the desktop menu.

Yes, but how do you pull up a Terminal window if you have the symptoms described by the OP? I have the same problem and cannot find Terminal. Your help would be appreciated, thanks.
