View Full Version : Poor video performance after S3 resume

After resuming from S3 sleep, video feels sluggish. Launcher takes time to appear, as well as switching workspaces...

If I logout and back in it works fine again, until I suspend-resume.

Ubuntu 11.10, 64-bit, Desktop PC, i7, ATI 4870 with opensource drivers (AMD's drivers do not support dual monitors! lol)

Where should I look for evidence?

Thanks

Most likely you suffer from the same problem as all other users who wants to suspend/hybernate their system. Both options are giving various kind of issues. Best advice: don't use suspend/hybernate mode.

As long as i'm using Ubuntu, I'm aware of this issue and never came across a very good and workable solution.

I don't mean to be rude, but this work-around is just unacceptable.
I use suspend all the time on my two computers. Laptop needs it to achieve better battery life, Desktop needs it to save on electricity bills (yep, lots of power).

Anyway, suspend and hibernation have been breaking on both computers, but with the help of the community I manage to fix them every time (at least for suspend which is a must).

So.. anyone else?
thanks for the reply anyway :)
