View Full Version : [all variants] How to reinstall without a reliable internet connection?

I tried both the live cd and the alternate cd for Xubuntu 11.10 and each one stuck at the same step, demanding a wireless connection, and refusing the only one I had. I backed out of that step on the alternate cd, and skipped that step, but I ended up with a buggy installation of Xubuntu 11.10.

So how can I install a new copy of, probably, Kubuntu or possibly an older Ubuntu over the Xubuntu partition? (After backing everything up once more)

And how can I install a new copy of any Ubuntu without a reliable internet connection, without the installer getting stuck, and without ending up with weird bugs? (I have a connection right now, just no connection during installation)

Why no connection during install?

Hmmm.... Can you go online if you run it live?

Not from the Xubuntu live cd, unless there's something I've missed. I'm still setting up the Kubuntu cds.
