I had been running a two hard disk system. The bigger HD was divided into 3 partitions. WIN98SE on one. Ubuntu 11.04 on the second. Ubuntu 10.10 on the third. Tried to upgrade to Ubuntu 11.10 using the internet. That scrambled everything and resulted in an uncommanded installation of 11.10 on the second hard drive. None of the Ubuntu installations will run now. I then went to the Ubuntu site and down loaded 11.1O directly thinking I would be down loading a "live" CD. That was wrong. The resulting CD is not "live". Should it be? I now have to completely wipe, reformat and reinstall in order to, hopefully, get a functioning system again.
