I was very happy with the gnome desktop environment. I had added some application launchers that ran my own bash scripts or other programs and was able to set command line options by right clicking on the icon. I just upgraded to Ubuntu 11.10 and it gave me Unity. I decided that I should use Unity since that is the trend. One of the bash scripts I had with gnome is a lens in my Unity Dash. I'm not sure why only one was ported seamlessly and not the others.

How can I add other bash script or custom launchers to the Dash?

Thank you.

when you gedit the launcher you made, the TYPE must be set to application for it to accept it on the bar
