View Full Version : [ubuntu] Changing Desktop(s) lay out in Gnome Shell

I've just done a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10. After only a very short exposure to Unity, I installed Shell. I quite like the way the number of desktops changes depending on how you move windows into them. However, as far as I can tell, these desktops can only be stacked vertically. Is there a way of arranging the desktops horizontally too, so as to create a 2D grid of desktops as possible in Gnome 2?

Many thanks,

No, that is not possible. I'm not sure how such a feature would interact with dynamic workspaces.
