I have found posts similar to this but not for this exact thing. I'm running 64 bit Ubuntu 10.10 with KDE 4.4 desktop installed. My issue is that my display turns off after 10 min at idle like the power management is on when it is not. I've made sure it is off in Ubuntu and in KDE and also the screen savers or both off and it still happens. This problem only happens with this exact install no matter how many times i've installed it. Any stand alone OS doesn't give me this prob and the only reason i don't run 11.04 or 11.10 is due to hardware issues with my wireless so for now i'm sticking with 10.10/KDE as i love the KDE desktop. The KDE desktop is using HAL power management so it says, maybe i need a diff program? Please help as this is the only thing i haven't been able to figure out.
