Greetings to all Ubuntu users!

I am relatively new in using Ubuntu but I'm sure it's worth the time I must invest.

I have one major problem... :(
The OS drivers don't include my wireless Network PCI card.
And eventually I cannot connect to the internet.

My PCI card is an OvisLink Airlive 8000PCI Wireless Network Card.
I went over to a friend's pc and downloaded Linux drivers from here:
http://www.airlive.com/support/support_3a.jsp?pdid=PD1217467900605

The folder included a .deb file, a .tar.gz file and an rpm.zip file.
I read online that I should run the .deb file and so I did.
Ubuntu software center opens.
The problem is that the "install" button is grayed out!
Why?
I also tried moving the file to my desktop and executing it in command line by typing:
sudo sh (filename.deb)
but nothing happened.
The error said: Syntax error: newline expected

What should I do?
i can't connect to the internet so I can't install codecs and eventually can't listen to mp3s and watch movie clips. :(
