do i need to update sources.list after installing a new kernel

I installed the "3.1.0-0301rc9-generic" kernel on ubuntu 11.04

Is there any problem in doing that?
Now should i update /etc/apt/sources.list file for oneiric?

Maybe, since this is a release candidate, but I guess that you are aware of that.

I don't see a reason to update sources.list since it doesn't depend on the kernel. It rather depends on the Ubuntu release.
