The short answer is: NO.

The long answer is that there may be a way to do that, but it may be quite complicated. You can try to find unofficial ppa for xfce 4.8 for Ubuntu 10.04, but unofficial ppa are always a bit of a gamble.

If you want to use the latest xfce, just install 11.04 or 11.10.
