View Full Version : [lubuntu] why is there to sets of headers??

when i install ubuntu11.04 and another distro,on the boot menu it shows,for example,mint11,mint11(recovery)
ubuntu,ubuntu(recovery) then ubuntu,ubuntu(recovery) and occasionally another option appears previous linux version....why does it do this and how do i get it off?

I was under the assumption that it was a bare bones style kernel, just in case you break something, you'd have a backup kernel to boot from.

it doesnt make sense to have a back up this way though cause if i crash one i log into the other its the same????its ike its linked.any way of removing it cause its quite annoying with a dual boot.one thing odd though is when dual booted with win7 i dont have this problem.only when installed solo or dual booted with mint this problem occurs.

No its slightly different one puts you in safe graphics mode too ..... say your
graphics were all messed up the second option allows you to get to a terminal
it also allows some other tasks , like cleaning space etc .... say your hard drive gets full up.
