How in the hell do you get the language/locale changed from en_US to en_US.UTF-8???
Desktop installed on a laptop, 2.6.32-34-generic-pae #77-Ubuntu SMP 10.04 LTS installed and updated.
Somehow the installation got set to en_US and not en_US.UTF-8.
Every time I ssh into another server, ncurses displays are all screwed up.
I have reconfigured locales, purged, uninstalled, reinstalled - everything but wiping the damn system and starting over.
Surely there is an option other than wiping and starting over????
