Xubuntu menu - the one at the left of panel 1 - is often unresponsive

Since it's the easiest way to open applications are reset preferences, it would be helpful if it would respond.

Also, I can't mark this as [Xubuntu] if I forget at the beginning? Can someone please fix this?

It had been unresponsive from time to time from the start. But it has not responded at all since before I posted the above. This is an important feature of the Desktop environment that's just... stopped.

That sounds just like bug #3572 (https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3572). I never had that problem, but maybe there's some weird combination of settings that causes it.
