Ubuntu 11.10, installed onto a USB drive using UNetBootin

MD5 Checksum: C396DD0F-97BD1226-91BDB92D-7E68FDE5
which matches the checksum I found online.

Attempted to load on two different netbooks, an Aspire One D255E and an Eee PC 1001P

Symptom Description: Netbook begins loading from USB thumbdrive, red activity light on thumbdrive flashes for 5 seconds and screen has a white, flashing _, then the thumbdrive's activity light turns off and the screen continues flashing an underscore.

Possible issue: Although Windows and my Ubuntu netbook can read the drive, I recently wiped the MBR and installed a new one to make the thumb drive usable after using it for a ChromeOS live usb. However, I doubt this is the issue. I've done the same thing in the past, only difference is that it was an earlier version of Chrome OS and I loaded 10.10 netbook remix edition onto the thumbdrive.
