I just upgraded to 11.10 on these 2 setups:
Wubi - 11.04
Netbook Remix 11.04 - native install on Asus EEE
Now neither of them are able to connect to wired (Wubi) nor wireless (netbook) networks and both show that no networks are available.
When I attempt to edit network settings I get the message:
The system network services are not compatible with this version. Both worked perfectly before.
I have attempted the solutions provided at:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1834444
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1742343&page=35
The network manager (version 0.9x) daemon is running and all packages are up to date (I chrooted from a live CD and upgraded again). I know that there are compatibility issues between network manager 0.8-0.9 but am not sure about the details.
I have also tried installing WICD on the netbook.
Help me please! Nothing could be more urgent, I'm typing this from a Windows box!
