So I installed this driver update through the system settings menu for the video card. The driver was called "ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver". There was some kind of error when it installed but apparently it finished. So i rebooted my computer to finish the installation, but now my frame rate has noticeably dropped. When I switch from one desktop to another using the desktop cube, everything is very choppy. Also when I open and close windows, the window animations are very choppy. So this new driver slowed down my overall framerate and I want to get rid of it. I looked in Synaptic Package Manager but didn't really find the driver i just installed. So any ideas on how I can uninstall a new video card driver? Oh and I'm using Ubuntu 11.10

Go to the 'there' link in post # 7 and do the total purge, that driver is buggy for ubuntu
