K, I was just wondering what it would be like to have a portable version of Ubuntu One. Then I had a brain fart and remembered my first experience with cloud storage and Yahoo Briefcase. At one time, they had a client either y or z drive which you downloaded to your computer and when you signed in, it created a virtual drive on your computer which would allow you to access your briefcase. Of course the files were all representations to conserve bandwidth, but I was wondering what it would be like if a portable version of Ubuntu One did this (was just representational) so a flash drive could be carried everywhere with the client on it and it could run from even computers which the user didn't have admin rights.

Of course, everyone I've talked to about the Yahoo Drive thing, says I'm nuts and that they've never had such a service, but I could swear up and down they did. That's why I'm posting this to see if anyone else remembers it.
