Hello,
I just updated to Ubuntu 11.10 from 11.04. As others users, I noticed that the graphical environment is so laggy respect to the old version.

So, I started to use unity 2d (I just checked Ubuntu 2 in the login screen's settings). But this morning I ran "unity" from the terminal and unity started to work just as it used to do before the update: with compiz's effects and without lag. ;)

Is there a way to use unity with the "clean" setting without starting the 2d version?

Thanks in advice

PS: I can't edit the title anymore but it would be "how to clean unity?"

Yes, using 'thread tools'. I have done it this time.
