Something like the old Splinter cell games or SWAT 4?

A shooter but with more strategy/thought and less players than your typical COD/BF etc...

IS there any new ones?

I know it is perhaps not what you are looking for but, Team Fortress 2 is pretty good. AND it runs alright under wine. The spy class in that game involves alot of strategy and skill, with cloaking and backstabbing the big lumbering heavies and whatnot. Its free now too.
