Hi,

I am new to these forums and desperately trying to instal the new version of Ubuntu onto my old PowerBook G4.

I have followed all the stages of making a USB so that i can run it off. I got to the stage 9. Execute sudo dd if=/path/to/downloaded.img of=/dev/rdiskN bs=1m (replace /path/to/downloaded.img with the path where the image file is located; for example, ./ubuntu.img or ./ubuntu.dmg).

And when i did this my finder gave me a warning that my computer couldn't read the disk and gave me an option of eject, ignore or initialise. I clicked ignore and tried to then follow the rest of the stages. but it didn't work. How do I get the computer to recognise the USB drive during the restart as I only have one option (MacOSX).

Cheers guys,

Ben
