Greetings,
I was checking FF's RAM usage and at some point I noticed that one running process went up the chart it was gnome-shell, it went at over 200Mb of RAM usage! :o

I am running the fresh release of 11.10 AMD64 Desktopwith gnome 3.2 shell and the apps running were: FF in debug mode 1 tab open, pidgin, terminal and beatbox sleeping.

Anyone noticed this? Btw...it went away after a few minutes, I guess it went to sleep lol

That doesn't seem to odd to me. Compiz uses about 75 mb of ram on my computer, so maybe Gnome shell was under a lot of "stress" right then.

Gnome Shell uses about 105-107 mb of ram with FF open.

Let me bet. You got Nvidia proprietary drivers.

It uses 55MB here. How much RAM do you have? The higher amount of RAM you have, the more it'll use. I have 2GB.

I have 4Gb of RAM and 2Gb of swap but it never had to use the swap :)
