Every time I reboot, I have to change my resolution to 1680x1050.
I have opened X11.org and the entry is in there, but it keeps reverting back to 1024...
I am using an nVidia GeForce 7900 GS with a dell widescreen monitor. I am also driving Natty with Unity off and Gnome on with Compiz running.
This isn't a major issue, it is just irritating to keep changing the resolution every reboot and I was wondering if anybody here has had the same or similar issues...
I will be happy to provide additional information if needed -I am sure that it will be
I will anxiously await your replies!
Thanks in advance

How are you opening x11.org? Are you using "sudo gedit" in the terminal?

Actually I was using VI...
However, the nVidia Server X Settings driver config has a merge to X11 button (see image below)

When I merge into the file it saves and I can validate it by looking at the content of the xorg file... Here is the output in vi

Incidentally, this is the xorg.conf right after I reboot.

I don't see a lot of difference here. I am curious about the Removed Option metamodes bit though...:shock:
