Hello,
I'm trying to install lubuntu 11.10 from live cd and I cannot.
Installation hangs saying something like:
gzip failed, perhaps the disk is full
and it seems not going on.
What to do?
Thank you

It was due to the cd I used to install.
I burned lubuntu iso on a cd-rw using a pc,
and then used this cd to install lubuntu on a different older pc.
Maybe the cd drive couldn't read it well,
so I tried to burn it again at the minimum speed
and it worked.
Thanks

Hi,
Glad you managed to fix it :)
However, please make sure to check MD5SUM whenever you download any iso for any distribution, not only Lubuntu.
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuHashes
That would save a lot from your time :)
Also, burning at low speed (8x for example) is recommended.
Thank you for choosing and using Lubuntu :)

Hello,
many thanks for your advices! :)
Only one small thing about this site:
I've noticed reading your bottom signature
you ask to use the [lubuntu] prefix while starting a new thread.
I always try to pay attention to that but this time I failed.
Is there any chance to add a prefix once the thread is started?
Thanks

Hi :)
Any time and it's my pleasure :)
Don't worry about that now as long as your thread is marked as SOLVED :)
It's important for me and anyone who is looking for unsolved Lubuntu thread. If you use [lubuntu] prefix in your new thread, it will be easier to find it when someone searches for it.
And I'm afraid only Forum Moderator can change that. I tried that on one of my threads and it didn't work, we don't have access to change it once created :)
