ubuntu 11.10 upgrade fom alternate cd taking lot of time

can any body pls say why upgrade from ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10 using "alternate cd" takes alot of time in fetching some files[it also fetches files from internet ]

At the moment I would assume that it's because there are a lot of people using the servers.

What does it download ?- it already has the "alternate cd"

You selected 'Yes' at the prompt, allowing it to download new updates from the servers. Just select 'No' when it asks you if it can download new updates from the servers.
