Hi, I'm really excited about Ubuntu 11.10!
I upgraded and can use the Unity shell, but that's not what I'm excited about.
I did a sudo apt-get install gnome-shell, and started up gnome.
It has some graphics problems (see attached). Basically some letters in the fonts appear as blocks, and the background is teal.
lspci on my graphics card:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Juniper [Radeon HD 5750 Series]
I was using the ATI/AMD drivers before the upgrade, and removed them in an attempt to fix the problem. They are gone, graphics work great, and it didn't help the gnome problem.
Any suggestions?
