So I've had a Dell XPS1530 laptop running 10.04 for a long time.

I upgraded to 10.10 on my way to 11.04, no problem.

Then I upgraded to 11.04. It hung and when I rebooted it appeared to be 11.04 the first two times I booted. After that, it boots and won't start the desktop environment and ends up at the command line wanting a login.

No problem, I have a backup of the home folder, so I'll just start 11.04 from mu usb stick and install.

Cool, it boots no problem, sees the local drive.

Click on the install 11.04 icon and away it goes. It shows an option for keeping data and updating 11.04 to 11.04...I figure it's worth a try.

After configuring a few things, it comes up with a message: "Unable to remove conflicting files".

Ok, so I'll do re-format and install from scratch.

But, does that error have implications I may want to consider?

Regards,
Mac
