I'm trying to install some packages from the Ubuntu 11.04 DVD onto an offline machine. I thought this should be straight forward to do, but synaptic never seems to acknowledge the DVD is present. Is there something I'm missing?

I've tried to follow the instructions here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Ubuntu, but they do not seem to help.

Check DVD as repository and then close and refresh.Now,you should be able to install packages from DVD because it is one of repositories.
