I have ubuntu 11.04 64bit

after booting the system, an alert came out saying that one software had some problem.
In order to report the problem the system asked me the root password,
after that it said that the problem could not be reported because this is not a genuine ubuntu system...

Is it normal for the system to ask me the root password in this case?

Why shouldn't my system be genuine? Can it be because I've installed some drivers (nvidia and scanner)?

ubuntu-bug <here you software> and report it.

while coming to genuine , have you downloaded the ubuntu from www.ubuntu.com o any other site.

I have no bugs to report, the software (mkvmerge) works fine, but the system seemed to have some problems, so an interface popped out asking me the password in order to generate a report...
that seams weird to me.

after that he started to do something (some kind of diagnosis I suppose) but then stopped and told me that "The problem cannot be reported: This is not a genuine Ubuntu package" (did he need the root password to tell me that?

I don't understand whether it is ubuntu not genuine or mkvmerge.
In any case I've downloaded ubuntu image file from the ubuntu site.
