Is it me or everyone is seeing the same "8 days to go" in the count down banner page (http://www.ubuntu.com/community/countdown)? If I could remember properly, 11.10 will be released on 13th October, which means only 3 days remaining. But as on today (10th Oct UTC+6) I am seeing that the banner says 8 more days are remaining! Moreover all the four countdown banners look exactly same! Can anyone please tell me what is happening?

I think you're talking about http://www.thisisthecountdown.com/ which I am not. I'm talking about http://www.ubuntu.com/community/countdown. I've attached a screenshot, where you can find that:

the counter is showing "8 days to go"
all the four banners are exactly same

Yup, I even checked fridge.ubuntu.com and it also has it pinned at 8 days (I wonder if this has anything to do with the Unix time server being shutdown?)

I think it's either to do with what not found said (if it's a script that updates the image), or that could just be a static image. There's also the possibility that whoever is supposed to change the image (if it isn't a script), has forgotten to do so :)

It's okay now.
