Cannot Install
I have never used Ubutu, I am trying to install on Pentium 4, 2.4 ghz, 2 gb ram, Intel D865Perl motherboard. Windows XP is newly installed (not updated, not online). I burned Ubuntu 11 ISO to disk 2x with different programs just to make sure they were ok and get same results with both.
When I boot with CD all I get is a brown screen with a box and little man at the bottom of the screen then a black dos looking screen which scrolls page after page of stuff, "usb low found, microsoft mouse" paragraphs are numbered I let it go up to 30ish,couple of hours.
I wanted Ubuntu as only operating system on this machine.
What am I doing wrong??
Thanks

sounds like a graphics problem, what graphics card (or builtin )do you have?

You should not have problems with that, you are trying to install Ubuntu 11.04 right? (not 11.10 beta)

perhaps adding "nomodeset To boot might help till you get it installed and proper graphic drivers installed .

1) Check the md5sum on the images. It may have been corrupted in transit.

2) Tell us what the messages are when it stops running. (take a clear photo and attach it)
